Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any further questions, please email me and your question will be answered within 24 hours.

How long does it take for my documents to be returned?
All Write..? will always return work as per the Clients turnaround request. The turnaround time is also largely dependent on the size of the document and complexity of work required. Work can be completed within 24 hours although additional fees may apply for quick turnarounds.

What about confidentiality?
Client confidentiality is protected at all times, right from the initial enquiry. Clients choose to send over a sample of work to enable an accurate quotation to be given. Any work sent to All Write..? is protected and will not be shared with any third party without express permission.

Do you proofread for international Clients?
All Write..? will accept Clients from anywhere in the world.  Orders outside the
UK must be paid for by Bank Transfer.

Is there a minimum size of document you accept?
No, All Write..? will accept any size of written work, from books to leaflets.  Please see the Services link for a detailed list.

How do I submit my document to you?
You can post or courier your document to me if you require hard copy work to be proofread using standard BSI proofreading symbols.

Or send your document via e-mail to, in either Microsoft Word (.doc) or Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format.  All Write..? can then return them to you, having used the Tracked Changes or Text Edits features.  A separate, corrected copy can also be sent. We can also proofread website content online.

What is ‘Tracked Changes’ in Microsoft Word and 'Text Edits' in Adobe Acrobat?
Track Changes enables the proofreader to indicate suggested changes and enables you to approve or reject them.  Text Edits allows you to indicate text that should be inserted, deleted or replaced.  I can also use the Sticky Notes feature in Adobe.

Why use All Write..? when there is spelling/grammar checkers on PC’s?
What a
spelling/grammar checker cannot detect is the different meanings of phonetically similar words, for example – where or wear, their or there, sight or site, enquiry or inquiry.

What is the difference between proofreading and copy-editing?
In general terms, proofreading checks for errors in spelling, punctuation, basic grammar and formatting, and copy-editing looks at the overall picture of grammar, clarity, fact, structure and style of the document.
